After obtaining my Masters’s degree in molecular biology with specialization in human genetics at Comenius University in Slovakia, I moved to Belgium for my PhD.
I changed from human to plant research unraveling auxin cytokinin crosstalk in Arabidopsis roots in the lab of Prof. Eva Benkova at PSB-VIB.
Switching to translation research, I joined the group of Prof Moritz Nowack (PSB-VIB) as a postdoctoral researcher, founded by IOF Ugent. Translating the knowledge from Arabidopsis stigma senescence to generate proof- of- concept data for the first ever delayed silk senescence trait in maize led to successful industrial collaboration with Cortreva Agriscience and another 5 years of postdoc in programmed cell death lab.
Since 2022 I become a member of HortiCell and I am involved in PASCell and Genesis projects.
