I am a permanent researcher at the Council for Agricultural Research and Economics, Agriculture and Environment Research Center, CREA-AA Rome, Italy. Graduated on Agricultural Sciences and Technology with a Ph.D. in Agriculture, Food, and Environment.

My research activities are mainly focused on: sustainable farming systems and agroecology; diversified cropping systems and soil fertility management; use of models to assess soil-plant interactions, soil C and N dynamics, and climate change adaptation and mitigation measures under Mediterranean conditions. Author of more than 70 publications, 29 of which are listed in Scopus.

In the Bio4Food project my role mainly regards the assessment of the quality of herb and vegetable residues (i.e., tomato, fennel, basil, parsley, and artichoke) collected from the experimental farm and local farmers near the experimental site. The main quality parameters assessed in crop residues are water content, organic carbon concentration, pH, macro-meso- and micro-nutrients, and inorganic pollutants. Plant nutrient and pollutants content will be measured by incineration of vegetable tissues and following analysis by ICP-OES. These crop residues will be part of the feedstock for the project.
